Pros

I have worked with dozens of startup companies in my career, and I can honestly say that SafelyYou is one of the most well organized, supportive companies I have worked for. The industry served attracts truly kind individuals who are committed to the mission. The company was built in such a thoughtful way, investing resources in both the growth of the product and the team. Every member of management schedules time during their busy week to connect with anyone who might want to chat. Shirley the COO is awesome. It is great to have the opportunity to work with such a strong female leader who cares so much about the success of her teams and the company. George the CEO is so intelligent and dedicated to being a good mentor. Every department head is an expert in their field. Employees enjoy the support of a great HR team and a number of benefits that include full health coverage, 401K, and additional perks to support working from home, wellness, personal growth. Management recognizes the importance of taking care of your mental health and that is reflected in the PTO policy.

Cons

Working in a startup structure can be messy, and the inherently chaotic nature of this type/size of business is not for everyone. Sometimes you do work long hours to finish a project or meet a goal, but it never goes unrecognized. I will say that if a gap in a process is flagged or you speak up about a challenge, you are heard. Even on days that I get frustrated I am still happy to be here.

Pros

The mission is meaningful and the work has an impact in dementia care. There are some talented people across teams who genuinely care about residents and customers. The pace is fast and you will learn quickly.

Cons

There is a consistent gap between what leadership communicates and what teams experience operationally. Employee feedback is regularly collected but rarely reflected in meaningful change. Support is often promised during challenging periods, but follow through can feel inconsistent. Turnover, has been high during certain stretches. That level of churn creates instability across cross functional teams and affects customer confidence and outcomes. Greater accountability and steadier leadership would improve morale and retention. Clear career paths are difficult to identify. Growth opportunities can feel either undefined or overly complex to navigate, which makes long term development challenging for high performers. Representation in leadership roles, especially for women in nontraditional positions, is limited. Expanding diversity at the executive level would strengthen decision making and culture.
