Safeway - Anonymous employee Safeway Employee Review

The pay does not match responsibilities of positions within store locations. Cashier's make the same as baggers and in most cases as a cashier you may be doing both, everything from AR/AP functions and minimum wage. You can make more working at a clothing store within a mall than Safeway. Overall I liked working with the customers and my fellow employees, but the pay was horrible along with the hours. Some weeks I received less than 7 hours work at 7.80 and hr...good job for a teenager to buy maybe some McDonald's on payday and put $10 in savings, but you definitely can't afford much more than that over a week period.
