Open 365 days of the year Management is horrible Couldn’t ever ask for time off without getting yelled at by management Management could care less about their employees Having their employees work 12 8 hour days in a row with out a day off Under paid Management got so angry at employees when they wanted to transfer to another store or put their two weeks in Most of their younger employees are in school and on my days off most of the time around may or June I would have exams and they would try to call me in after numerous times after I gave them my school schedule and they did not care and that work comes first before anything. When multiple females were being sexual harassed by the same man at work. Management and HR didn’t do anything at all. They just acted like nothing happened and said it’s ok they are just being friendly. When that was a lie. Not being able to see your Schedule til every Thursday Have to have management approve a trip through them first before actually booking the trip. Half the time they decline the requests. You will get in trouble if you have already booked the trip. They do not care about their employees social life. They want their employees to work everyday all day no matter how long they’ve already worked. When management gets the most ridiculous days off, but if someone in front end requested a Saturday off, they will decline it. Safeway's management is so toxic and fake to their employees.

Pros

Nothing at all, only work at Safeway if you're about to be literally homeless

Cons

Genuinely hellish work environment. Management is lazy and absent, customers are the most disrespectful and clueless I have ever encountered. Complete unrealistic labor allocation and expectations. As a PIC, I have to run 9 SCO robots, unlock cases for customers, perform transactions at Customer Service, answer external phone calls, and move freight. Customers rightly get frustrated at the complete lack of care by corporate, and take it out on employees. Management in the morning all skip out on the evening management early every single day, a luxury the closing staff are not allowed.
