Pros
Easy tasks and jobs. Great pay and excellent benefits. Lots of room for career growth. Upper management is really cool, they were always easy to reach. We got a free Turkey for thanksgiving and other random perks such as gift cards.
Cons
Weekends required. Even long tenured managers worked Sat. or Sun. Catty office people. Worked 10 hours a day, at least once a week. They weren’t upfront about the schedule. Hard to enter/exit the Safeway compound daily. “Karens” being rude to newcomers. “Transportation Clerk” is a catch all job title they give to everything else that doesn’t fit into the rest of the department. It just signals that you’re only for the transportation dept. I did admin. assistant work. I could be filing one day, help with backhauls, answer dispatch phones, mainly did data entry 70% of the time. A veteran employee yelled at me for parking in “his” spot. It wasn’t marked, it was just a spot closer to the front door. Once a week the orientation instructor would make us clerks wait for all 30 of her students to check in before we could enter the building, thus making us late. I started making sure to show up early to avoid this. Two people in the office were extremely annoying because they didn’t like each other. They would make comments about each other. Or yell over the cubicles. I did tell a manager. One of those employees would make snippy comments instead of trying to help. They would comment anytime someone was late, although they weren’t a supervisor. I was left alone often to work long hours to meet deadlines. Employees would call out without any consequences.
