Pros

Weekends off, management is friendly.

Cons

Here is the deal. Everyone that works at any job is going to have a slightly different experience than you. So my experience may not be yours. All I can tell you is that when I worked there, a lot of the people on the sales floor weren't happy. Why you ask? Good question John Doe! First, they have unrealistic goals and if you don't meet a specific threshold, you don't get paid anything. You could work the whole month, and if you are a few percentage off, they keep all your money, the compensation changes every few months, not once a year like most other companies. When you first get hired, everyone is nice and friendly. They don't tell you that you have to meet a certain threshold in order to get at least part of your money. A good portion of your salary is commission, therefore if you are not meeting your goals partly because they are very high and you have to meet that threshold, then you are essentially making just your hourly. For a company of their size, they heavily rely on excel to tally your commission. So your final pay is dependent on some Joe Shmoe to make sure you get paid right. You can't just go and run a report to see where you are during the month. Oh get this, they wait until the end of the first week and sometimes the second week to tell you your goal. Why is that bad? First, to make sure you don't make too much money even though they tell you the sky is the "limit". Second, if the goal is really high, then you have less time to make it up and you are still responsible even though they took their sweet time to give you your goal for the month. Third, they get to keep your commission if you don’t make the threshold. Now to be fair, this review is regarding the sales aspect of the job. The health insurance is good, but its expensive. My advice to Sage is to subsidize more of the health insurance to make more affordable. If you can get a non-sales job, then you should be fine. Last but not least, if you ever want to know how a company is going treat you as an employee, just look at how they treat their customers and I’ll leave it at that. However, if you are looking for a sales job at Sage, get back in your car fast and pump the gas buddy! This is what I would have like to know before I accepted a job at this company. Now, you know and you can make an informed decision. Good luck!

Pros

Some of the people are genuinely rockstars in their crafts. The insurance is top notch and PTO is generous.

Cons

Company culture and morale are awful. The salaries are low, policies are dated and not equitable, product and internal tech is dated. Rapid changes due to poor leadership and frequent turnover. Leadership does not seem to possess the ability to pivot once decisions have been made, even if the decision was the wrong one. Company personality is archaic and as far away from forward-thinking as possible.
