Pros

If you are an EC member you get fantastic benefits and if you are lucky enough to have contact with the employees at Corporate office you get to meet fantastic, knowledgeable people. I loved the fact that we were so involved with the community. I do hate that RIWTC did it just for the show and the picture and not for the true cause.

Cons

I wouldn't apply to work in this place. EC Managers are not fair to the rest of the employees and take full advantage to the fact that the corporate office is so far and barely comes around, and when they do they roll the red carpet for them. I was miserable while working here due to micromanaging and unfair treatment. I also want to make sure everyone knows that this is just Residence Inn World Trade Center and not Sage Hospitality. Sage Hospitality is an amazing company that gives back to communities and takes pride on the morale of the company and its employees. Perhaps RIWTC should live by this and not pretend to do so when people are looking. It's not just for the show.

Sage Hospitality Response

Thank you so much for your time with Sage Hospitality and your feedback about your experience at the Residence Inn World Trade Center. I appreciate your comments that the issues you had were at that particular hotel and the executive team there and not with Sage. I am sorry that you had that experience and can assure you that your feedback will be researched and listened to. I hope that you felt you had an avenue to let the HRD know of the issues you were having so that action could be taken. It is unfortunate to lose good associates over differences in management. I hope that we can learn from this and will do some research as to why you felt this way. I wish you the best in your future career and hope to see you again at Sage.

Pros

Large portfolio of hotels with the potential for transfers and growth. Upper management is intelligent, helpful, and the layers of management help meaningfully support daily operations on the ground.

Cons

Culture varies widely by property and reality of available job growth is determined largely at the property level despite the larger portfolio. Lots of layers of management create a high level of bureaucracy that can make getting anything done a slow and frustrating process.
