Pros

Decent total compensation package. On-property management teams are generally good. Properties are generally good.

Cons

Complete lack of management career development. Old boys network of leadership. Lack of consistency in General Managers (some good, some poor). Lack of consistent enforcement of HR policies. Very Colorado-focused-not awesome if you aren't at a Colorado hotel.

Pros

Large portfolio of hotels with the potential for transfers and growth. Upper management is intelligent, helpful, and the layers of management help meaningfully support daily operations on the ground.

Cons

Culture varies widely by property and reality of available job growth is determined largely at the property level despite the larger portfolio. Lots of layers of management create a high level of bureaucracy that can make getting anything done a slow and frustrating process.
