Pros

You work with hard working people, pay is competitive in the Hospitality industry. Beautiful independent properties and overall good product.

Cons

Development through corporate is not good, like a lot of corp companies left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. There's a disconnect to all property levels. Benefits are not good compared to outside the hospitality industry. Career advancement is hard and a lot of the wrong people are put into the wrong positions. A lot of bad decisions are made which effect the hard working employees, while eventually the great employees leave or get burnt out. Work life balance depends on who your boss is. Can be good or bad.Culture also depends on what property you work at but if you ask an hourly employee about Sage core values, pillars nobody knows or cares. Anytime I hear Sage "you belong", it makes me cringe, because you don't feel like that at all.

Pros

Large portfolio of hotels with the potential for transfers and growth. Upper management is intelligent, helpful, and the layers of management help meaningfully support daily operations on the ground.

Cons

Culture varies widely by property and reality of available job growth is determined largely at the property level despite the larger portfolio. Lots of layers of management create a high level of bureaucracy that can make getting anything done a slow and frustrating process.
