Pros

Sage has incredible benefits and the new office is great.

Cons

Unfortunately, there is no direction in the HRA department. The turnover is the highest I have personally experienced with a company. I know that I worked with a great team, but we never had time to get to know one another because we were too busy trying to keep our head above water. Expectations like a 5 day close were unattainable because the lack of support. Sage must understand that all of their properties are unique to each other so only so much streamlining can be done to make processes the same across the board. Lastly, management for the HRA team was awful and it felt that they did not care about maintaining work life balance or positive relationships with the accountants on their team. Constant take, never give. Unfortunately I have never felt so lonely in a job before, which is ironic because this was the largest team I’d ever been part of.

Dear Sage Associate, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you’ve recognized the strength of our benefits and the environment at our new office—but we’re also deeply concerned by the issues you’ve raised regarding workload, leadership, and overall support within the HRA team. The experience you describe does not reflect the culture we’re committed to building at Sage—a culture where people feel connected, valued, and supported. We take your feedback seriously and recognize that behind every process are people who deserve to be heard and respected. To help us better understand the circumstances and continue improving, we strongly encourage you to reach out to us confidentially at myvoice@sagehospitalitygroup.com. Your voice matters, and we’re committed to learning from it. Sincerely, The Sage Hospitality People & Culture Team You belong here.

Pros

Large portfolio of hotels with the potential for transfers and growth. Upper management is intelligent, helpful, and the layers of management help meaningfully support daily operations on the ground.

Cons

Culture varies widely by property and reality of available job growth is determined largely at the property level despite the larger portfolio. Lots of layers of management create a high level of bureaucracy that can make getting anything done a slow and frustrating process.
