Pros

Sage has been my home since I arrived in the United States. It has allowed me to grow through opportunities. I have had mentors who have not only taught me but have also guided me through hospitality and teamwork. I first joined Sage as a houseman, then moved into the supervisory group and held the position of housekeeping coordinator. Now in my new role as housekeeping manager, I can say that I've come to understand the importance of motivating the team by creating extraordinary experiences for guests and creating a pleasant work environment where every employee is passionate about coming and giving their best. Sage is my home, and I hope to continue learning and enjoying its hospitality.

Cons

The biggest challenge I've faced has been the language. My mentor has always supported me with this, so much so that I started studying English. I've greatly improved my communication with my superiors and colleagues. It's a safe place for me to develop professionally and personally.

Pros

Large portfolio of hotels with the potential for transfers and growth. Upper management is intelligent, helpful, and the layers of management help meaningfully support daily operations on the ground.

Cons

Culture varies widely by property and reality of available job growth is determined largely at the property level despite the larger portfolio. Lots of layers of management create a high level of bureaucracy that can make getting anything done a slow and frustrating process.
