Pros

A forward thinking company passionate about service and design. I've had two General Managers who both have a lot of heart and always seem to be concerned with doing what's right. I had to take a medical leave not long after sage took over the hotel I work at. HR did everything right. They treated me with respect and as a person not just an employee. Coming back to work could have been really awkward and difficult. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Sage talks about mental health and takes action to address it. They genuinely want the company to enrich peoples lives. We get to do that in hospitality. The spaces they create are pretty awesome. If you're going to work for a hospitality company you might as well work for one that designs some of the coolest spaces in the industry.

Cons

I haven't had much opportunity for training.

Pros

Large portfolio of hotels with the potential for transfers and growth. Upper management is intelligent, helpful, and the layers of management help meaningfully support daily operations on the ground.

Cons

Culture varies widely by property and reality of available job growth is determined largely at the property level despite the larger portfolio. Lots of layers of management create a high level of bureaucracy that can make getting anything done a slow and frustrating process.
