Pros

The clinical staff are talented and compassionate professionals who care deeply about the work they do and who strive to be amazing colleagues and therapists. There is also room for flexibility in managing the times clients are seen which is helpful if one has a young family or needs to work around other schedules.

Cons

There is constant disorganization and the company itself does not live up to its own hype. They promote themselves as a "Christian" agency but often treat their staff in a very non-Christian way. They run strictly as a for-profit business and they do whatever they can to line their pocket. They transfer all costs they can (such as credit card fees) onto individual providers.

Thank you for taking the time to write your employment experience at Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. on Glassdoor. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you are here and a part of our team! We agree with you that our staff are talented, professional and care about the work they do. We inarguably have the best staff around! Thank you for mentioning too that you appreciate the ability to essentially create your own schedule and the ability to have input and discretion on your work hours and the clients that you see. Nystrom always strives to give our providers the highest level of autonomy in an effort to provide them choices that meet their lifestyle and that jive well for their personal life and their family. That is a top priority for Nystrom. I am sorry to hear that you feel that you’ve been treated in a “non Christian way.” We are a Christian based organization and strive to treat our staff and customers in a kind and respectful manner. We are also a for-profit organization, but we do not focus on revenues or profits. Rather, we focus on what is best for the patients we serve and strive to provide services in a way that will result in the best outcome for our patients. Of course, we need to earn a profit to stay in business and stay competitive in the industry. Of course we have a lot of overhead expenses that increase with time (ie: the costs of renting office space, utility expenses, taxes, wages of our support staff that support our providers, etc.). We do not “try to transfer all costs to our providers to line our pockets” as you mention in your posting. Our goal is to be transparent with our staff regarding how they are paid. In fact, when we make a job offer, we explain in detail how staff are compensated and staff are provided this information in writing. When an offer is accepted, that new employee signs this document acknowledging that they understand and attest to how the compensation structure works. There are no surprises. If you wish to discuss anything further, please feel free to contact our Human Resources department. We certainly do not want any current or former staff to be dissatisfied with their employment. Thank you for providing your feedback.

Pros

Supervision and some internal CEUs are provided. You can be flexible with your schedule. My office is very supportive and I have good coworkers.

Cons

I was warned about burnout and too many clients, but my experience was the opposite. I have not been able to build a caseload in a year and am being forced to part-time with loss of some benefits because there aren't enough intakes. I am not the only person in my office experiencing this. The pay is low as well, there is no stipend or reimbursement for training outside of the company even while the company does not offer specific modality training, and the company has cut salary pay model as well as cutting several holidays including Juneteenth. The company's actions continue to show that they care for profit over people.
