Pros

Support staff works hard under extremely busy conditions, they are friendly and hardworking. Therapist and medication providers work hard to provide exceptional patient care.

Cons

Unfortunately, management and HR fails to take the current and/or former employee reviews written seriously and do not intend to make changes. Immediately you see a positive review about management following a negative review about management. Based on my experience with this company, I have witnessed management ask new staff to write reviews on this website while that employee is still in a mindset that they are working for a company that respects front desk staff. Based on the very high turn over rate that this company is known for (especially in the support staff front desk position) that staff is also no longer employed with this company. If you are considering this position, please be cautious that you will not be respected, and you will be working under very inexperienced, dishonest and condescending management and from there you will seek assistance from a very unqualified and biased HR team. You will be treated and spoken to like an adolescent and will (hopefully) find much better employment and appreciation elsewhere. Please refer to previous reviews that express truthful experiences regarding this company.

Hello, We are pleased to hear that while you worked at Nystrom & Associates, you acknowledge that the other staff that were working with you were friendly and hardworking and that our clinical staff provide exceptional care to patients. We agree! We also take great pride in our staff and the values of our workplace culture in order to sustain a healthy environment for our employees. We (management and Human Resources) take current and former employee reviews very seriously. In fact, our upper level leadership meets on a regular basis to review Glassdoor reviews to determine what we can do better and these reviews shape future ongoing goals and priorities. We look at all feedback as an opportunity. Additionally, our Human Resources department does a check-in with all new staff roughly 30 days of their start date to ask each new hire if they need any additional support and asks for their ideas in terms of things we can do to improve on and make better. Most of the feedback we receive from new employees is very positive. We do let our staff know that we appreciate them leaving their feedback about their employment with Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. on Glassdoor. We do not tamper with any information and writing a review on Glassdoor is completely optional. All of our staff are respected and are treated with respect, contrary to what you mention in your Glassdoor review. At times, when staff have performance issues that need to be addressed on a more formal basis, the way we operate is that we are very accommodating and work with that employee as a team to work on improvement. It is a team effort. Of course there is perception vs. intent. If you felt that you were being spoken to in a condescending manner, that wasn’t the intent. We also do have to speak about the performance issue(s) with the said staff person, and we understand why you think it may sound condescending when we have to talk about the do’s and don’ts when a policy is being violated (ie: arrive to work on time, stay on task at work, etc. If a policy is violated HR is required to discuss it in a formal process to remain professional. We do this for the protection of our employees as well as us. We are very patient and believe that with a team effort approach and a willingness to cooperate and respect one another, on both sides, produces the best results for an appropriate and excellent working environment. Thanks. -Nystrom & Associates, Ltd.

Pros

Supervision and some internal CEUs are provided. You can be flexible with your schedule. My office is very supportive and I have good coworkers.

Cons

I was warned about burnout and too many clients, but my experience was the opposite. I have not been able to build a caseload in a year and am being forced to part-time with loss of some benefits because there aren't enough intakes. I am not the only person in my office experiencing this. The pay is low as well, there is no stipend or reimbursement for training outside of the company even while the company does not offer specific modality training, and the company has cut salary pay model as well as cutting several holidays including Juneteenth. The company's actions continue to show that they care for profit over people.
