Micromanagement:
Individuals are advised to meet with superiors on quarterly basis to review performance. Said individuals are then told to take notes and email superiors about what was discussed in the meeting (to ensure the individual was listening, etc.) This is a lazy method for superiors to keep tabs on employees' performance. Other similar workplaces would have superiors do this themselves. Taking notes might also apply during small group meetings where employees are called on randomly to see who was paying attention and can call out the right answer. It comes across as very degrading and hierarchical. It is also encouraged of said individuals to not reveal to the person they are speaking with on the phone that they have reached a call center, as patients do not like to think their needs have been reduced to a separate location.
Policies:
In the employee handbook it outlines a gossip-free work environment. The place is anything but gossip-free as those who work there the longest chat about anything and everything, including everyone: current and former. Upon my exit, someone I know said the only company that would create a gossip-free policy is one that doesn't want any of its employees criticizing their policies, so that's why it's put there.
