Pros

I have lots of administrative support: billing, paperwork, scheduling, office space is all provided. I receive plenty of clinical support: case consultation, clinical supervision, online informational resources, free in-house training opportunities. Staff are friendly, professional, helpful. Peers are friendly, professional, helpful. The agency is expanding, offering new locations, and telehealth options make care very accessible to all. Wide range of in-house referral options for DBT, SUD tx, MH IOP, EMDR. Also in-house referrals for ARMHS and CTSS services, medication management including suboxone.

Cons

The agency has multiple sites and is still growing, we are opening a new clinic every few months. Many new therapists coming onboard monthly. Overall turnover seems high and I get several new clients a month whose previous Nystrom therapist left the agency, sometimes abruptly. Very high demand - so many requests for new intakes that I am considering closing my schedule. Right now a new intake might have to wait 3-4 weeks to get their next appointment.

Pros

Supervision and some internal CEUs are provided. You can be flexible with your schedule. My office is very supportive and I have good coworkers.

Cons

I was warned about burnout and too many clients, but my experience was the opposite. I have not been able to build a caseload in a year and am being forced to part-time with loss of some benefits because there aren't enough intakes. I am not the only person in my office experiencing this. The pay is low as well, there is no stipend or reimbursement for training outside of the company even while the company does not offer specific modality training, and the company has cut salary pay model as well as cutting several holidays including Juneteenth. The company's actions continue to show that they care for profit over people.
