Pros

I spent a year working at the front desk. The only positive I can give is that somehow, Nystrom attracts some wonderful providers.

Cons

Chronically understaffed, but they continue to open new clinics. Admins do the work of many - once registration trained, you'll be expected to do the work of a "Patient Care Coordinator" without the title or pay increase. Admins make $16.50/hr - you can make this with no job experience at McDonald's. They are told constantly by providers and admin staff that they are putting profit ahead of patients care, but they don't listen.

Pros

Supervision and some internal CEUs are provided. You can be flexible with your schedule. My office is very supportive and I have good coworkers.

Cons

I was warned about burnout and too many clients, but my experience was the opposite. I have not been able to build a caseload in a year and am being forced to part-time with loss of some benefits because there aren't enough intakes. I am not the only person in my office experiencing this. The pay is low as well, there is no stipend or reimbursement for training outside of the company even while the company does not offer specific modality training, and the company has cut salary pay model as well as cutting several holidays including Juneteenth. The company's actions continue to show that they care for profit over people.
