Pros
Now that I've had experience working for another CTSS provider, I've come to appreciate more of what Nystrom had to offer. Twice a month meetings/trainings were difficult and did at times interfere with scheduling clients, but other places have much more required meetings than that. It was nice that they offered free licensure supervision, and my supervisor was very accessible for questions and to talk about clients. I got a lot of experience working directly with kids and families of varying ages and diagnoses. It is also a big perk to be able to have a laptop provided to you by the company to complete your paperwork. Then you don't need to use your personal devices.
Cons
The billable quota is much more manageable than other CTSS providers I've worked for (I believe when I worked there it was 20 for a beginner staff), but there still is much time that goes unpaid with paperwork and such. It is frustrating when there are cancellations and circumstances beyond your control that keep you from getting your hours, and particularly frustrating that you don't get mileage or drive time for no-shows. However, at other CTSS providers, drive time is not included in quota at all, which is immensely more frustrating. It is very difficult to maintain a schedule that does not involve working late evenings (8-9pm sometimes).
