Pros

Supervisors are nice and do their best, although ultimately they couldn't do much other than offer advice-- upper management didn't seem to listen at all. The flexibility in schedule came in handy for looking for other jobs and attending personal appointments. Trainings are thorough.

Cons

They will change how they pay you from what they tell you in the interview to what you learn in training. Everything outside of appointments-- no-shows, *company and state required* trainings, supervisory meetings, billing, checking emails, phone calls, are completely unpaid. Not a dime. They DO NOT DO BACKGROUND CHECKS ON CLIENTS but will tell you that if you are concerned for your safety (sitting alone with them in their home or place of choice) you can do them yourself, on your own time/ money. They do not do safety trainings other than "if you feel something is wrong, sacrifice your billable hours and leave". They say nice words, but don't back it up with money or benefits. PTO for non office based positions is pathetic. The work is isolating, stressful, and you must love driving, have a reliable car, and means to pay for your own wear and tear-- they offer a little more than half the federal minimum mileage reimbursement and tell you to deal with getting the rest on your own come tax time.

Pros

Supervision and some internal CEUs are provided. You can be flexible with your schedule. My office is very supportive and I have good coworkers.

Cons

I was warned about burnout and too many clients, but my experience was the opposite. I have not been able to build a caseload in a year and am being forced to part-time with loss of some benefits because there aren't enough intakes. I am not the only person in my office experiencing this. The pay is low as well, there is no stipend or reimbursement for training outside of the company even while the company does not offer specific modality training, and the company has cut salary pay model as well as cutting several holidays including Juneteenth. The company's actions continue to show that they care for profit over people.
