Pros
The people and work atmosphere are a joy to be around each work day. Since I've started at Salem I've felt welcomed, appreciated, and I've been treated like a professional with flexible start and end times to my day, so that I can take care of my family and personal matters. I feel like they want you to have a good work/life balance here. Any "Cons" listed are far outweighed by how truly blessed I am to be able to work for a company whose goal is to make a positive difference in the world. Love it here!
Cons
The vacation time Salem gives isn't great. 20 years ago I started fresh out of college with 4 weeks "paid time off". That included everything from vacation, to sick, to bereavement, any time you took off and it was your choice how to use it. Here it's 2 weeks vacation, 6 sick days a year, so if you don't get sick a lot, it's not much. I also think they keep their salaries low by saying a position is a certain title, but giving higher title work responsibilities.
