Pros
I'm on my second tenure at Salem. I wanted to come back after my first tenure because I have always found Salem to be a solid, ethical company wanting to do good in the culture and community. I have generally been treated well, am respected by my supervisor, and really enjoy what I do. While it's true that the salaries are lower than some radio groups, the trade-off is the professional corporate climate, the approachability of management, and the flexibility they extend. I hope to stay here a long time!
Cons
The pay is lower than other radio groups. Raises do come but they are generally small (1.5 - 2% increases). And although I know GM's appreciate their own autonomy, there are times where personalities get in the way of real objective progress.
