Pros

No pros for this company whatsoever,

Cons

After it was made clear that profits were lost on one side of the company, there were mass layovers, 401k is no longer matched, and it was announced that after making it a remote company for three years after covid, salaries will now be based on the location of employees. It's a clear CYA move without much sacrifice from higher-ups. Not a good place to work for growth or morale. It is sad that this is a Christian company, yet those who call themselves Christians do not care that their employees or at or below the poverty line.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We value both the positive & negative feedback as it allows us to see how we can improve for the future. Regarding the recent challenges faced by the company, we acknowledge that the decision to address profit loss led to difficult changes, including layoffs and modifications to our benefits structure. We understand that these changes have been impactful, and we genuinely empathize with the concerns and emotions that they may have caused among our employees. The decision to end 401k matching and adjust salaries for those that relocate going forward was not taken lightly. Our aim was to ensure the long-term sustainability of the company, which would, in turn, protect more jobs and foster an environment for growth in the future. While we know these changes may be disheartening, we remain committed to providing competitive compensation packages and benefits to our team members. In terms of the perception of higher-ups not making sufficient sacrifices, we assure you that every decision was made after careful consideration of its impact on all employees. Leadership is continuously evaluating strategies to lead the company through challenging times and ensure its long-term success. However, we understand that there may be room for improvement in communication and transparency around these decisions. We genuinely appreciate your dedication during your time here, and we encourage you to reach out to us directly to discuss your concerns further. Our door is always open to listen and learn from your perspective. Please contact us at hr@salemmedia.com or 805-233-3129.

Pros

I'm proud to be joining an organization that is rooted in Christian and Conservative values. Since my first day, everyone I have met has been extremely warm, welcoming and more than happy to give advice and guidance. I'm confident I'll have an exciting career here at Salem. Plenty of mentorship to be found here. I would also like to note that my interview process was extremely welcoming, informational and personable. Everyone I met with throughout the process was very personable and I knew from the process I'd gain excellent mentorship if given the opportunity to join the team. I'm eager to learn and grow with this team.

Cons

No cons for me at this point.

Pros

Great supportive local environment, people called to work there to support the mission.

Cons

Corporate digital leadership is disjointed and systems are chaotic. Actual delivered campaigns are inevitably flawed and mis managed. Retaliatory, narcisstic, abusive corporate digital leadership. Constant systems changes and zero assistance in navigating. More and more digital agency and other jobs outsourced to Asia. Salespeople are exhausted and burned out by programs failing. Zero accountability taken by Ad Ops team for mistakes or extrene lag time in responses from internal automated systems. Salary cuts to 'help the company' plays on the mission minded employees, taking advantage of employees good intentions by underpaying them compared to industry. No 401K match.
