Pros
One piece of Salesforce that I always loved that never changed since my time here is that all the coworkers that you have are really here to support and assist you. Also if you are put on a good team, there are also some terrific managers that truly value the work and effort that you put in for them!
Cons
Unfortunately there are also some managers that just see their Account Executives as a number. Certain managers here are fantastic, but then there are also certain managers that eat, sleep, and breath Salesforce. You are expected to make calls and have meetings while in the office, and then do other work such as PowerPoints, prospecting, etc. when you get home. A slight few managers have been described as “bullies” and try to push out certain Account Executives based on who is not drinking enough of the cool-aid. The company is run on micromanagement and fear. Every call, email, connect is shown to the entire hub and managers (especially the VP) absolutely love to call out and embarrass those who are at the bottom of each metric. This causes an extremely stressful and fearful environment where Account Executives are constantly comparing their numbers to their co-workers due to managers making it clear that they will take your accounts and give them to someone else if you are not producing and replace you. A lot of the success here is luck of the draw. Favoritism and politics sweep the office and certain Account Executives get more support and better territories/accounts from their managers which plays a huge role in success here. VP's require 4-5 days in the office now which is causing burnout for the sales team; because of this the office morale is at an all-time low where Account Executives dread coming into work and most are looking for their next career opportunity. The promotion structure has completely changed this year, there are top Account Executives that have exceeded their numbers and should be moving up market, but due to the new rules they are unfortunately are being kept in current positions with no information about when they might be able to move up. The company has zero diversity in the office, and what used to be great bonuses have turned into free lunches and dinners with managers.....
