Pros
Employee discount, monthly freebies. My coworkers were actually great.
Cons
-The pay is too low for what's expected of you. They truly want beauty and beauty product EXPERTS. Some training is available via videos, but I had to WORK to get to it. The manager just told us it was athere, there was no set time to review it. -High turnover. We went through three different managers in the 8 months I was there. All of us associates knew the store better than the managers. -There's not much opportunity for advancement. The managers were almost always hired from outside of Sally's. -The bonus system was ill-conceived. Pushing Items of the Month for the sake of selling IOMs was rarely in the customer's favor. As an associate, I have superior product knowledge, and I'm going to recommend the items that make sense for the customer, not shove some gimmicky hairbrush in their face just because it's an IOM. Plus, as it's been said before, the associate only gets credit if they ring that customer out themselves. When you're on the sales floor, there's always another customer trying to get your attention, or you were in the middle of stocking, or the customer just wants to look around more--The chances of it working out that you help the customer and ALSO are at the register when they're ready to check out are slim. And then associates get irritated at one another, and it's not the friendly team environment a workplace should strive for.
