Lot's of chaos. Lot's of politics. Try to make progress while working in a spinning washing machine. - Anonymous Samsung Research America Employee Review

Pros

Pay. Worklife balance is good so far, but when HQ starts to pressure management (the way this project is going, they certainly will), the pressure will fall at the feet of the employees who will be expected to work 24/7 to achieve unrealistic goals and pull something miraculously working out of a tangled heap of disorganized mess.

Cons

Totally chaotic. Can't make progress because people are stepping all over everyone else's feet. Infighting abounds. Managers don't have a clue of the technical details and thus make unrealistic and unreasonable requests and misguided assertions which requires worker's time to try to explain often to no avail--managers want stupid things done, thus stupid things must be done and when it isn't successful the workers will be blamed. The IT department is a pain in the neck and the compute resources are crappy (ultra books [so called] that work like crap), constant connectivity outages, lack of flexibility in how you can setup your work environment. Apple need not worry. This place is a mess.

Pros

Decent pay, good team, delicious food, good coffee machines

Cons

Bad leadership from HQ, people get fired randomly, frequent budget cuts, not enough compute resources for research, 5-day in-office, HQ leaderships do not listen and do not have clear direction/vision.
