Pros

Compensation and health benefits are very good. The outlook for the place is bad, but Samsung is a huge company, it should fare better compared to other US companies in a down turn. Asian companies tend to resist lay offs until their core business fall apart.

Cons

Incredible amount of politics at every level of the organization. Groups refuse to work with each other and fails to communicate, creating absolutely horrible/meaningless engineering designs Products are *functional* because of the endless last minute work around and tons of man hours thrown on to projects. If you are an engineer who values your time and care about what you do, don't come here. You will very likely be paying the price for someone else's decision through overtime. If you are into playing with politics and can speak Korean, this is a great place for you.

Pros

Samsung is a place where you grow quickly — sometimes because you want to, sometimes because you have to. The pace is intense, but the learning curve is unmatched. The people are smart, driven, and genuinely care about building great products. The cross‑cultural environment can be challenging at times, but it also makes you a stronger communicator and operator. If you’re adaptable, curious, and energized by global teamwork, you’ll thrive here.

Cons

Priorities can shift overnight, and you need to be comfortable with constant change. Meetings with Korea can stretch your day. Some teams still operate with a top‑down culture, which may feel rigid if you’re used to Silicon Valley‑style autonomy.
