Pros

Supportive workplace Amazing experiences Creating magic Feeling fulfilled in your job

Cons

-20k lower salary than public school teachers for "lower" tier employees (who must have a degree and min few years experience). -kids that just graduated college don't even look at us twice anymore, when entry level at a tech company is 60k, why would they? -unable to find qualified candidates for open roles

Thank you for your review. We never want to see any of our employees struggle. Being a nonprofit, we can't compete with tech salaries. The Opera has always been very open about our financial status. Like most companies, we want to do the best for our employees. We appreciate your hard work, dedication, and love for the company.

Pros

The people at San Francisco Opera, the love of the art, the dedication to the mission and the honest sense of caring for others is really rare. The caring and openess from the Board President all the way down to the colleague sitting next you is just not something you will find at most companies. Our General Director is genuinely one of the nicest and most competent and credible manager I've ever worked for. And, please, don't think for a minute that management or leadership asked me provide this rating. I genuinely like working at this company!

Cons

Other than normal office politics (which is anywhere), I know I am supposed to add something here ... but there is just nothing to offer in the way of "cons".
