Pros

Medicine teaching hospital- physicians and residents are willing to educate staff and include them in the process. Easy to get hired as a new grad to get experience- most CRNA schools in the area will accept you before you're even off orientation. The facility is amazing. The rooms are big. You can get any supply or device with just a phone call. There seems to be a lot of available equipment and testing resources.

Cons

Risky and dangerous. There's alot of turnover. Most of the staff has less than a year experience, including charge nurses and managers. Layout of the hospital makes it so you can't see or be near your patients. Sometimes you'll have patients on 2 separate units. It would be so bad but patient monitored is little to none. You only check a blood pressure once a shift? Why are they even in the hospital? Again, you're not going to go home feeling real confident you didn't miss anything. Don't rely on any nursing support teams for help. The rapid response nurses are new grads and miss basic concerns. Most of the time they'll just call you from their office and ask if the patient is OK. There are no standards or expectation for leaders. You just need to have a nursing license to be a clinical care leader (nurse leader) or manger - no one in these positions has a masters in leadership or management, and it's pretty obvious
