Pros

Positives that I experience/d during my interview, onboarding, and/or in my role: Inclusive - besides the DEI initiatives in general, if you have disabilities, you will/should feel supported; interview process allows you to self-disclose, and as a federal contractor they look to be diverse in this area. There are other DEI initiatives, but this one is often tough to get a feel for when just applying. Pace - compared to other accounting and finance roles I've had, the pace is more tolerable. The close is 4 days, but follows a fairly normal reporting timeline. Benefits - great benefits across the board, including insurance, time off, and other perks. Equitable pay - for my role, the pay was equitable to what one would expect to receive in a similar role in other industries.

Cons

These aren't necessarily negatives, more so observations of areas that could be challenging to some: Post-COVID environment - limited collaboration opportunities, can be difficult for people not comfortable with other methods of communication/collaboration (e.g., Teams calls, virtual meetings, etc.) Hybrid/Remote teams - same as above, having teams spread out can be hard for some to interact with (e.g., teammates are either Hybrid, all remote, or not necessarily located at your office), may include management as well. Requires adaptability and flexibility in how you work and interact with others.
