Friendly staff, 401k match, decent health benefits
Cons
Facility is old and run down, salary grade is poor considering the cost of living increase in state, and the national average salary.

Thank you for your review. We know it’s been a little while since you posted it, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts about your experience at Sappi.
We’re pleased to hear you found the staff friendly and valued the benefits and 401(k) match. At the same time, we hear your concerns about the facility. Paper has been manufactured at Westbrook since the purchase of that mill by SD Warren in 1854. While we are proud of the historic significance of this site, your feedback will help us continue to make improvements.
Your comment about salary levels is also important, and we continue to evaluate compensation to reflect market conditions and the rising cost of living.
Thank you again for your time at Sappi. We hope your work since then has been positive and fulfilling.
-Decent entry level pay for newly graduated mechanical engineer as a reliability engineer
-Operations-Maintenance coordination has some improvements, not sure if they will stick
Cons
-Cloquet mill is very disorganized and chaotic
-Near constant reactive "firefighting" operations
-Maintenance department is not treated as a partner, but rather as a servant
-Training in maintenance is a joke
