Employees in the CSO organization are not treated equally at different sites. Because of their relationships with company’s CSO, people based in Ohio with very little drug discovery experience were rapidly promoted to senior leadership roles to manage scientists in Massachusetts. One particular troubling example— someone with only high school education and no prior R&D experience was promoted to executive director to oversee clinical sample testing in the clinical lab in Andover. When people voiced their concerns, they were retaliated with their positions been eliminated. The working environment is extremely toxic, and it’s almost comical to see R&D being run by such a group of amateurs who think they know everything. So many people left since Ohio gene therapy took over in March, and nothing has changed.
