Pros

The discount is very good, but that is the only pro, unless you are full time but they mainly keep to hiring part time employees.

Cons

Homophobic and transphobic environment. The management have no concept of personal space and constantly politicize my identity and tell me talking at all at work about not being straight is not appropriate for the workplace. A co worker said something very transphobic about the transgender bathroom situation in front of a manager, and the manager laughed and did nothing except tell me to pretty much keep it civil when I tried to explain why dying that at work wasn't ok. The management tries to get into your private life, then punishes you if you talk about your private life at work. They play favourites, and gossip about other lower on the totem pole employees. This is the worse place I have ever worked, but I can't quit because I need the money. If you are LGBT, I highly recommend not working here. It is incredibly draining to work in a place like this.

Pros

Discounts. Incredible coworkers. App they use for scheduling and pay is really nice. Always left on time. Relaxed dress code. Schedules came out early.

Cons

Doctor's notes aren't "a valid excuse for absence" ??? You cannot buy anything in the store unless it's been there for two days. The managers are untrained. They refuse to trespass people (even though one customer threw glass onto the floor in a fit of rage and TWICE a fellow coworker's stalker came in and they just had them hide in the back) Most of the managers don't really help on the floor. They refused to put me on registers despite us needing the help and me not only having checkout experience, but I'm also fully trained and capable of being on the register. They pushed my male coworker to the registers even though he didn't have any previous retail experience way sooner than they did me. Schedules would be put out so early you couldn't request time off if something came up.
