Pros

Some of the people you will meet and work with.

Cons

This place is a joke! Started as a number 3 manager and within a year and a half was promoted several times. This business is nothing more than a sweat shop. The people they had that were great they quit or got rid of. As a manager you receive little help. You are expected to unload trucks no matter what. They get roughly 3 trucks a day, usually late in the day because fright management at the warehouse cant get it right. They also receive donation location trucks probably once week from remote locations that adds to the mass hysteria that is the production department. Mattress trucks come twice a week as well. You are expected not only to unload them but take the material off the truck! Oh let's see. Production staff gets $9.00 an hour. Some front end cashiers get $9.00 and hour as well depending what position you are in. Most of the afternoon and evening staff get $7.25. Back room truck people get $7.25 an hour. Who wants to unload a truck in the heat for $7.25 an hour. Nobody responsible, so management does it most of the time, which takes away from other things you need to be doing. Most of the maintenance personal that come in to fix things around the store will "rat you out" for the littlest things. ---Lets see what else? There is a mandatory 50 hour work week for management. Vacations after a year, but only on the weeks that are not blacked out by the owner! That is the majority of them, so you end up with a vacation in February. Serious butt kissing is needed to get a promotion in this company. --Assistant managers make $11.00 and hour, the number 2 manager makes $12.00 and hour, and the G.M. makes $13 an hour plus a commission off sale day sales. What they don't tell you is most of your commission goes back into the store supplies you pay for. ---The company is horribly managed at the upper levels. They will look for a way to get rid of you. They recently got rid of a district manager after 22 years. --The owner and her husband micro manage the company because it loses money. Anyone can see this. ----There is no home / work balance, no raises, no anything, You need a doctors note if you are sick or you are written up. No personal days even if you child is ill. The benefits package by the way is only for management and it's a joke. No benefits for associates. ---If you like working for a company that offers nothing, you are in recovery (like many of the employees are) or like a employer that offers nothing this is for you. Otherwise run away quick!

Pros

Discounts. Incredible coworkers. App they use for scheduling and pay is really nice. Always left on time. Relaxed dress code. Schedules came out early.

Cons

Doctor's notes aren't "a valid excuse for absence" ??? You cannot buy anything in the store unless it's been there for two days. The managers are untrained. They refuse to trespass people (even though one customer threw glass onto the floor in a fit of rage and TWICE a fellow coworker's stalker came in and they just had them hide in the back) Most of the managers don't really help on the floor. They refused to put me on registers despite us needing the help and me not only having checkout experience, but I'm also fully trained and capable of being on the register. They pushed my male coworker to the registers even though he didn't have any previous retail experience way sooner than they did me. Schedules would be put out so early you couldn't request time off if something came up.
