Pros
Working at Savers has been a uniquely rewarding experience. As the Senior Manager of Software Engineering, I’ve had the opportunity to lead high-impact technology initiatives that directly support our mission of reuse and sustainability. Our engineering efforts power a complex retail environment across hundreds of stores, and it's incredibly fulfilling to see our work make a tangible difference, from the point-of-sale systems to backend operational tools. One of the things I appreciate most is the collaborative culture. Despite being a large organization, we work in agile, cross-functional teams that foster transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement. I’ve had the privilege to partner with QA, Retail Support, Business Analysts, and vendor partners to deliver scalable solutions while modernizing our tech stack. Savers has also provided strong leadership support and room to grow professionally. Whether it’s navigating enterprise transformations like the rollout of D365 Commerce, driving automation in our QA processes, or mentoring future engineering leaders, I’ve consistently felt trusted and empowered. The mission of Savers 'to champion reuse and reduce waste' resonates with me, and it adds a sense of purpose to every technical decision we make.
Cons
Change Management Gaps: While progress is being made, there’s still room to improve structured change management, especially in how changes are communicated and adopted across store operations and support teams.
