Pros
Truth is you basically get to decide how much money you want to make (up to a point). Intermodal operates very differently from all the other divisions and we all believe it to be the best out of all the options. Better home time( everyday on local and basically every other day on regional) by far and usually better pay. In our area depending on how hard you want to work you can make from 45k-80k. Intermodal isn't really pushy on dispatch. Kind of laid back and don't force you to work any harder than you want. You will just make less and be labeled.
Cons
Too many chiefs who have no experience in the trucking industry. Called a family owned company but really run by a board of directors of which only one is named Schneider and none of the rest have any idea what trucking is about or what drivers deal with. They love to invest in technology that some company sells them without testing it in real-world truck environment. Really slow to react to issues until it's too late and then they overreact. Example being trucks that shut off the cruise when the windshield wipers are on bc one driver out of 11,000 hit and injured someone in rain one day.
