Pros
Schneider has a liberal hiring policy which allows even the greenest of new drivers to gain a positive place in the trucking industry, there are many great and honest people who work at the Operating Centers who are willing to go out of his or her way to insure that any problem a new or seasoned driver comes in contact with or develops can be quickly and efficiently dealt with. I have had my share of positive situations that could have been ultimately negative had it not been for the quick and resourceful reactions of another OC employee. In particular, the Harrisburg, Pa OC, and the West Memphis, AR OC.
Cons
The upper level management didn't give a care about the drivers, the structure of seniority was very poorly handled, and too many times, outside interests were allowed to influence the decisions made at the corporate office. In particular, the Schneider Finance department is a crooked bunch of people who insure that a driver is approved for a purchase, allow that driver to spend his hard earned money fixing up those pieces of garbage they call lease to own trucks, then when all problems are worked out, they cut the mileages the "owner" gets so he or she can default on his/her payments and then they send the repossession man to pick it up and they resell it at a higher price.
