Pros

Great way to build a resume and contribute to your community. The opportunity to work with an exceedingly wide range of volunteers and professionals to provide a social leadership program

Cons

Work/Life balance is not important, expect to work exceedingly long hours. No compensation (salary, comp time, ect.) for extra work. Additional duties assigned are not accounted for in employee reviews, but can be held against you. Strong focus on hitting goals that you do not have the opportunity to set, and are often unrealistic.

Pros

Good health benefits via UnitedHealth.

Cons

Micromanage, cannot hold a conversation in office in this department without getting in trouble for talking with colleagues. However they expect you to come in 3 days a week at minimum to encourage team collaboration and team building. Meanwhile people who are paid at least 6 figures walk around the office holding conversations about nothing work related or complaining about local council employees and members-as if they do not realize without these very same people they would not have the big houses and fancy cars they own.
