Pros

Flexible schedule with paid vacation and sick leave. The volunteers you get to work with are the only reason to stay in the job.

Cons

Work at least 60 hours a week. They tell you in the interview that you will most likely work one weekend out of the month and a night or two during the week.... BUT in reality you work 3/4 weekends and 3/5 nights a week. Bosses tell you to "flex" your time but it is impossible to get the job done without putting in the time. your job is 90% fundraising and 10% recruiting youth/adult leaders. The expectations are too high and they laugh about it.

Pros

Good health benefits via UnitedHealth.

Cons

Micromanage, cannot hold a conversation in office in this department without getting in trouble for talking with colleagues. However they expect you to come in 3 days a week at minimum to encourage team collaboration and team building. Meanwhile people who are paid at least 6 figures walk around the office holding conversations about nothing work related or complaining about local council employees and members-as if they do not realize without these very same people they would not have the big houses and fancy cars they own.
