Pros

Your schedule is your own, so if you need to have a light day every once in a while, you can provided you make the time on other days for that work. The benefits package is very comprehensive, especially for a beginning career worker. If you build a great base of volunteers under you, the job becomes much easier and allows you more flexible time to pursue other endeavours. If the scouting program is something you truly believe in personally, it often feels like a very personal success when you have a great day at work or in the field.

Cons

There are a lot of evenings and weekends required, and you have to work directly with a mostly un-sympathetic volunteer base Your time is not valued as it should be. For example, if you have to work all weekend, there is no alloted time during the week to make up that lost personal time. Likewise the evening hours. If you are expected to be in the office or in the field during the day, and at meetings in the evening, there should be some time alloted to make up for those hours demended of you outside of the paid hours.

Pros

Good health benefits via UnitedHealth.

Cons

Micromanage, cannot hold a conversation in office in this department without getting in trouble for talking with colleagues. However they expect you to come in 3 days a week at minimum to encourage team collaboration and team building. Meanwhile people who are paid at least 6 figures walk around the office holding conversations about nothing work related or complaining about local council employees and members-as if they do not realize without these very same people they would not have the big houses and fancy cars they own.
