Pros
-allows you to interact with diverse medical professionals every shift -constantly learning new terminology, pathology, procedures, medications and patient care methods -present during almost all patient-to-doctor interactions while the patient is in the ED -looks GREAT on medical school applications -because you are interacting with physicians and mid-level providers daily, letters of recommendation are not hard to come by -pushes you to be able to multitask and time manage during highly stressful situations (for example: codes and times of high ED patient concentration)
Cons
-PAY :/ -It depends on the workflow of the medical provider you're scheduled to work with, but more often than not, scribes do A LOT more work and experience an amount of stress that is worth more than just $10 an hour -long hours on your feet (COME PREPARED)
