Pros
Working in emergency medicine is awesome. The doctors are fantastic to work with. Very helpful. Health insurance is fantastic. Pay increases periodically.
Cons
Terrible training program. After your training which is virtual online classroom training, and is not right for everybody, you train with a trainer on the floor for a few shifts and then you’re on your own. It’s difficult because the training was lousy it just was not enough training whatsoever. They even said it’s an accelerated course which again is not good for some people. The doctors are frustrated because when we come out of training they feel we should be 100% prepared and most of us are not . It’s not fair to them or the Scribes. The pay is ridiculous. Barely enough for gas. They promised to 36 hours a week but we don’t get 36 hours a week. I will have to get a second job. They promised you 36 hours a week but we don’t get 36 hours a week. I will have to get a second job. You do get a pay raise after 90 days but still $10 an hour in this day and age is ridiculous. Not to mention you start out at $8.50 That’s just pitiful. Get it together ScribeAmerica and get with the times.
