Pros
I was able to get management experience. I was able to successfully deal with a variety of stressful situations. It was nice being able to work from home and work clinical shifts, but I think they've changed the HA role since I left. I made a lot of good friends while in this role because we bonded over all the struggles we had to go through with this job. It's also nice to have a promotion on your resume.
Cons
They really crackdown on overtime, but as an HA if there was an open shift it was our responsibility to cover it if we didn't have any scribes to fill it. There was a lot of miscommunication between my manager about sites that needed to be staffed. It was also stressful trying to find good candidates that fit what ScribeAmerica was looking for. I think the HA role was poorly planned out. As I mentioned earlier, I think they redesigned the role, but I can't guarantee that being an HA would be any better because they changed it. Also, HA's are entirely too underpaid for everything we have to deal with.
