Pros
Great hands-on clinical experience. Meeting so many medical professionals to network with and learn from.
Cons
Scheduling process is unorganized. Not flexible enough scheduling for students in school. Shift times are unrealistic (super early or take up the whole day or overnight, only truly 1 good shift per day which is the first shift) and shift lengths are sometimes unreasonable (9-12 hours on weekends, not much time to sleep or commute outside of shift times). Too many changes in management to allow for a good system to be setup, and there is not a clear channel of communication between higher-ups and low level employees. Feels like there's no overall uniformity, rules change based on situation and who you ask for help. Would recommend as a short-term part time job, but even when you want to be part time they will still give you a full time schedule. Hard to find coverage because we all are overworked and our schedules do not make us available to each other. Minimum wage as salary, way underpaid for all of the time and effort the job requires.
