Pros

Well-reputed Hospital, compensation is in the top tier of three big hospital chains in San Diego

Cons

Extremely productivity-orienteed organization. Productivity calculated daily, then all pt. care staff receive weekly email listing productivity of all care providers on the team, everyone knows who is the fastest and who is not. Its shaming and hurts morale. Managers unsupportive. Everyone is stressed out with high productivity focus. Most staff working daily overtime off the clock which is necessary for most staff to complete all work and charting from the day. However management warns that this is grounds for termination. Its a no-win situation. Multiple RN's had to take time off due to stress-related health problems and turnover is high.

Pros

Honestly, the only real positives were the beautiful location near Torrey Pines and the incredible coworkers I built strong relationships with—dedicated, hardworking people who truly support one another.

Cons

If I could give Scripps a negative rating, I would. I’m in my mid-30s and have worked in multiple health systems across the U.S., and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had—largely due to the leadership culture. I frequently worked well beyond my job scope because of inadequate departmental support (functioning as the data analyst for the department, even though that was not my hired position). Despite consistently going above and beyond—essentially functioning as a team of one in a role that typically has 2–3 staff at other centers—my efforts were neither recognized nor valued. Instead, I was often talked down to and disrespected. To make matters worse, I worked as a team of one and was expected to “show up as a leader” without the title, compensation, authority, or respect to match. Over my year there, I experienced unprofessional behavior, including leadership accidentally sending me text messages gossiping about me with inaccurate information, with no apology to follow. When I raised concerns, I was told, “I don’t want to hear about this anymore.” When I requested time off due to burnout after a denied PTO request, I was told there was “no reason” for me to feel burned out and that “all I ever do is complain.”
