Good career starter but a soul sucking company - Anonymous employee SeaStar Solutions Employee Review

Very minimal wage increases. My main issues with working here are the decisions and behaviors of upper management personnel. They are very disconnected from their employees and don't understand what their jobs entail. This is obvious when they begin making unrealistic demands that don't make any sense to the person actually doing the job everyday. Company does not truly value hard work and only focuses on monthly numbers. They are continually pushing employees to cut costs due to alleged budget restraints meanwhile they are consistently spending money on unnecessary travel and dining. They do not place focus on creating career advancement for current employees unless you're a "yes" person. They claim to value their employees thoughts and opinions but it is just a façade and it is clear that they do not. They also claim to put their energy into making customers happy when it is convenient for them but will make reckless and selfish decisions at month-end in order to (maybe) hit their targets. They don't mind putting employees in uncomfortable situations with customers and co-workers in order to hit their targets (which most of the time they don't). They are a reactive company instead of a proactive company which means they run into major issues at least once a year and they leave their employees to clean up the mess. Despite all of this, they never seem to learn their lesson and this is why there is major turnover. Finally, there is terrible communication between management and the different departments. Nobody is ever on the same page which leads to co-workers throwing each other under the bus on a regular basis.
