Benefits are pretty good and the people in my department are nice. It's a factory so the dress code is pretty casual.
Cons
There is ZERO accountability in the company. Being inept, outright defiant of your supervisor or causing co-workers to not be able to complete their jobs will not get you fired at this company. It won't even get you disciplined - unless you're in the union and then you've got a good chance of being written up. There are employees who could probably burn the building down and not lose their job. Mediocrity seems to be the path to success. It's amazing to see middle-aged people behave with the maturity of 13-yr olds - mostly the unionized staff but also a good number of the non-union employees.
Management will get all worked up about saving money or watching costs. But they'll focus on the little things instead of the enormous costs incurred by poor planning and lousy communications. Staff will be told to track usage of some small items but then nothing is done with that data. Management reminds me of the Doug the dog in UP! who's always distracted by a "Squirrel"!
