Pros
Insurance, PTO, and 401K
Cons
The biggest thing here is that you get trained on days then you have to work nights it 12 hours a day 6 days and 5 days a week rotating days off are not in a row there split 365 days a year there is at least two people on shift . Job duties are. Walking the yard and checking the trailer temps and fuel levels no matter the out side conditions. If something breaks down and you dont catch it you can be fired no questions asked. If Seaboard property or customer equipment is damaged you can get fired for this as well. When you finish your training your at 13.25 a hour you get about .20 a year raise also if you have a CDL you get a dollar more thats it. You can go haul pigs and make in the range of 18 to 25 a hour. The yard is a logistical nightmare no lights where lights are needed the lights that are there are normally broken and never fixed. the management above your supervisors dont seem to care about the function of this department even when the decisions effect the department. If you love to be underpaid for your hard work and always being short handed this is the job for you.
