Pros
The company pay their staff well compared with similar companies in the storage industries. Good working environment with sound HR policies with comprehensive health care coverage including adoption assistance & higher education subsidies. Design engineering site in Minnesota, Colorado, California and even Singapore provide opportunities within org. Factory sites in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia & China provide further opportunities for job growth beyond home ground if you are willing. Good expat incentives for Director & above only.
Cons
This is a vertically integrated company. It held an impressive portfolio of technologies and IPs. There were sufficient talent pools within the company to ensure it is always number one. However, the huge downside is management is too top heavy. Too many VPs, Exec Directors, Senior Directors & Directors making decisions focusing on their own turfs and poor execution of products led to losing it's number one position in recent years. Initial management changes implemented by Former but now CEO again Steve Luzos in 2004 was sound with sound long term strategies but ran by the same old veterans who get the company in trouble in the first place in 1990s. Morale is low with recent layoffs. Engineers (likely pay check to pay check) discouraged with across the board 10% wage cuts. Upper management more cuts but were cushioned by company's generous stock options and other bonuses.
