Pros
High energy and fast paced. Days definitely don't drag on forever. If you're in a good store, the environment can be amazing. I worked in multiple locations across the country, and in two of the stores the team really worked together well. Everyone took care of each other, made sure no one was over worked, and owned every aspect of the store together. New culture roll out is one that truly values the employees and those that shop with them.
Cons
Management can be hit and miss. I was part of management at some level for three years. When my managers were reasonable and engaging, it made life wonderful. However, my last store (Detroit Market) was the opposite of the company a had grown to love. My store manager had full day meetings on Mondays, which were basically just to sit there and yell at everyone, since he knew better about everything. There were I Natalie's in which we w I up do things in exactly the way he'd want, then he'd throw a fit and it would need to be changed. It's fine that things change, but there's a way to go about it. The way he acted, it was like we were working for a child who we didn't want to make mad at us. I was promoted during my time at this store, however the promotion wasn't put through until a month and a half after the offer that stated affective immediately. There was no back pay, and when I asked for it, I was screamed at in earshot of customers and in front of not only my colleagues but those who reported to me. After that, I ended up giving my notice. I was not paid for my accumulated vacation time since I was salary and the company decided to count any day I requested off, even of it was my regular dayseason off (only 1 or 2 that week) as vacation time, and refused to pay me for the holidays I worked.
