Pros

The products we sell are the most important thing. That's what brings the customers in. The products are very good, and the presentation is very good. Shelves are clean, items are organized, salespersons are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. MCA's are efficient and hard working. Cashiers are cheerful and smart. Managers are awesome. The managers devote themselves to the store and work very hard at every detail all the time. They are nice and helpful and fair. The backroom crew is professional and clean. Everyone is doing their best and doing it well. I like the music and the atmosphere. It is a great shopping environment.

Cons

There's just a negative aura at work. My immediate boss is never happy. She never says anything nice. Meetings are all about numbers, get more numbers, bigger numbers, push the customers for more emails and credit contacts. The customers don't like it. They can't "shop their way" when they're constantly being pushed to give up personal information. They've already given everything they've got, there is no more. Quit milking the credit cow she's dry. A lot of employees are rude to each other or seem unhappy. Employees are also customers, treat them as if they had some value. As far as psychology, for god's sake give compliments to your employees! How hard would it be to say "Hey I noticed you picked up that trash" or even "I see that you were trying to do the right thing but here's where you went astray." Psychology. Lead with the good news, then gently break the bad news. Pat on the back once in awhile.

Pros

Working at Sears allowed us to develop strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills in a retail environment. We gained experience assisting customers, handling transactions, managing merchandise, and working as part of a team to meet sales and operational goals. The position also helped us improve time management, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive attitude toward customers and coworkers.

Cons

One challenge of working at Sears was managing periods of high customer traffic, which could be stressful and demanding. We occasionally faced difficult customer interactions, changing sales expectations, and the need to balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Additionally, retail schedules often required evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, which could affect our work-life balance.
