Pros
I personally love my Job. I have never loved a job so much honestly. Overall; it’s a great job, so many possibilities, it is what you make it. Do what you are supposed to, don’t be lazy, and work hard. YOU DO have room to grow, you can climb to the top. I really love all the responsibility, you can get creative, and you can have fun. Dental Insurance is great. Work load; really depends on the store you have, and the position you have. Some stores are so easy and slow. Other stores are so demanding and busy you just want to catch your breath. I personally like a demanding job. You appreciate when you have time to take a step back, and look at your accomplishments.
Cons
Insurance; we all want better Health Insurance, and a provider that people actually accept. Even a provider that health care providers have heard of. Opinions; Get a comment or suggestion "box" some way we can give you guys input and recommendations. Compensation can be tricky in my opinion, and the pay scale should be reviewed. Yes you do have to remember part of compensation is based upon onsite living. You get a free house! BUT some of the onsite living isn’t the greatest. The following needs to be factored in; cost of living in the AREA, the price of rental apartments in the area, how large the property is, and how much work it is. Example; if you have someone running a smaller store that brings in $XX,000-$XX,000 a month, low-medium work load, base pay needs to be a minimum of $11.50. Then factor in the apartment. The store is in a low income area, and about 600 Sqft. If that apartment was located anywhere else it would only rent for $575.00 per month. If that manager is making $9.50 per hour you’re looking at $2,095.00 (before taxes) for monthly earnings. That’s a yearly salary of $20,000.00 (with taxes deducted). That’s pretty low pay for someone who runs an entire property. That person made the company around $XXX,000.00 for the year. They deserve more money. My suggestion; consider all the factors when deciding an employees pay. Fix up the low quality apartments, that way it feels more like compensation. Don’t cut corners when it comes to employees. Property managers are responsible for making all the money. (Some of the apartments are really nice, so are some of the properties) Spend more money improving curb appeal. Example; paint, landscaping, paving, and flooring.
